We all love to go hiking every once in a while, but this hiking adventure can prove to be a bit of more trouble than fun if you are not equipped with the right gear. Today we are going to review the Asolo Power Matic 200 hiking shoes. We have been receiving a lot of requests from different people to review some of the hiking shoes, finally this weekend we ordered a pair and went hiking. We have compiled our experience with these shoes in the form of a review so that you can get a clear picture about them.
Features:
The first thing that you will notice about these shoes is the price. They are certainly not a cheap buy. I ordered them from Amazon and it cost us $300 dollars exactly. Anyways money is not the issue especially if you love the product. As we tried these shoes on we noticed that they are extremely well built and the material used is high quality leather.
They are very comfortable and have a heavily padded sole. This is one of those shoes that will not let you down on any difficult terrain. If you are someone who is constantly worried about hurting their ankles while hiking then you should definitely try these on.
While hiking we met some fellow hikers and to our surprise they were wearing the same shoes too. We took the opportunity to record some of their thoughts on this product. One of the hikers told us that he has been using these shoes for hiking for over 4 months now and they still show almost no signs of wear and tear.
What we concluded from this statement is that Asolo Power Matic doesn’t only looks nice and feels comfortable but they are very durable too. Well to be honest, we expected this durability, after all who would buy a pair of shoes for three hundred dollars that won’t last at least a year.
Since Asolo Power Matic 200 are all leather shoes, there is a downside to them. They are not very ideal for warm weather hiking. If you are hiking in a warm weather or in a tropical climate then we would advise you against them. In such conditions it would be better to go with something that is more breathable.
Asolo Power Matic is like a big bully, with their all leather exterior and heavily padded souls they are quite heavy. Now this was not a problem for us but we have seen many people who prefer light weight shoes. And from some aspect it’s practical to consider light weight shoes since they will result in less fatigue. Anyways, these shoes are heavy but then they are also very durable and protective. You can’t expect the same levels of durability and protective features from a much lighter shoe.
Pros:
- Well built.
- Leather exterior.
- Heavily padded sole.
- Provide excellent support.
Cons:
- Quite expensive.
- Not suitable for warm weather hiking.
- Not light weight.
Verdict:
Asolo Power Matic seems to be a lifetime investment. They are expensive, heavy and not suitable under warm weather conditions. But they are indispensible for any condition that demands uncompromised protection.
