With so many top-performing Sea-Doo’s on the market, it’s no easy task to choose the right one for you. The process of whittling down your options can be tedious, confusing and very intimidating. In fact, where do you even start?
The first step to figuring out which Sea-Doo is best for you is to determine what you want out of your time spent on the water. Are you simply looking to take casual and comfortable spins out on the water? Is it your need for speed that you crave? The thrill of taking your children out for a tow? Maybe a combination of all of these things?
Once you narrow down what your goals are for your time out on the water, that will certainly ease the pain of finding the right Sea-Doo. In fact, who knows — maybe that Sea-Doo will find you.
Sea-Doo has 5 categories for their PWCs: rec lite, recreational, towing, luxury and performance. The following are some of the top Sea-Doo’s on the market with each one representing a separate category to give you a better of idea of what Sea-Doo is calling your name.
Sea-Doo Spark (Rec Lite)
The Sea-Doo Spark has been all the rage this past year. It’s the latest PWC from Sea-Doo and they definitely didn’t hold back with it. This is by far a breakthrough for recreational watercrafts and doesn’t appear to let up anytime soon.
Features:
-
Lightweight: Weighing in at 405 lbs., the newly designed lightweight exterior of the Sea Doo Spark gives its riders greater maneuverability compared to heavier PWCs. It’s the perfect machine for power slides, 180s and even 360s for the experienced user.
-
2 or 3 Person Seating: Sea-Doo definitely had families and friends in mind with the Spark. Its straightforward operations and light weight make it an easy-to-ride PWC for almost anyone in the family. They offer 2- or 3-seated Sparks, depending on how many friends or family members you want to bring along for the ride.
-
Price: Priced at only $4,999, the Spark is astonishingly low compared to other PWCs. Like thousands of dollars cheaper.
-
Fuel Efficient: Sea-Doo had fuel efficiency in mind when developing the Spark. It’s by far one of the most fuel economic PWCs on the market today.
Sea-Doo GTI SE 155 (Recreational)
The GTI SE 155 is a top-of-the-line recreational PWC. Its power, velocity and safety features are hardly a match for other recreational PWCs in its class.
Features:
-
Horsepower: The GTI SE 155 has the most horsepower in the realm of recreational PWCs. It’s bigger than the Spark and can reach up to 60mph with the power its packing. Although it’s bigger than the Rec Lite, it’s still not massive and won’t be a burden on the water.
-
Safety Features: Its boarding step allows for quick and safe access. It also features an IBR (Intelligent Brake and Reverse) system, which many other manufacturers don’t have with their PWCs.
-
Multi-Seating: The GTI SE 155 can comfortably fit up to 3 people on board. It has non-slip pads and enough legroom for everyone on board.
Sea-Doo Wake Pro 215 (Towing)
The Sea-Doo Wake Pro 215 is a towing machine that provides the ultimate thrill ride. It’s designed to pull additional weight without losing the need for speed.
Features:
-
Towing Capacity: Its engine has the capacity to hit high speeds of up to 65mps (in good conditions) and the power to pull wake boarders, tubers and any other rider with ease and speed.
-
Fuel Efficient: It would seem like the Wake Pro 215 would eat up gas pulling additional weight for a long period of time, but it comes with an Eco Mode that allows for greater fuel economy.
-
Gentle Pull: The towing system is designed for a gentle pull. You won’t get frustrated with jerky pulls now that the towrope is lifted from the PWC’s back end, allowing for smoother rides.
Sea-Doo GTX S 155 (Luxury)
The GTX S 155 is one of the smoother and sleeker PWCs on the market. It’s slightly better than the GTX 155 due its providing a simpler, yet equally relaxing ride.
Features:
-
Smooth Ride: Its twin suspension system and shock absorption allow for Sea-Doo’ers to ride with the utmost comfort. The GTX S 155’s hull absorbs the roughness and vibrations from waves, making choppy conditions feel like a relaxing ride.
-
Adjustable Suspension: Any rider can adjust the seat’s suspension with ease. Under the back end of the seat, there’s about a 5 inch gap that provides the rider with “bouncability.” They can adjust the suspension to add or remove bounce to their ride.
-
Intelligent Features: The GTX S 155 features Intelligent Brake and Reverse (IBR) and Intelligent Throttle Control (ITC) systems. The IBR gives the rider the ability to brake and reverse with ease and the ITC provides the option of cruise control and an ECO Mode for fuel efficiency.
Sea-Doo RXT-X 260 (Performance)
The Sea-Doo RXT-X 260 is a machine purely built for performance and is basically an all-in-one PWC. Its need for speed, power intelligent design and comforting ride are like no other.
Features:
-
Horsepower: The RXT-X 260’s horsepower gives riders the opportunity to go 0 to 30mph in less than 2 seconds, while reaching a top speed of 67mph.
-
Intelligent Features: This performance machine also includes an IBR system and ECO Mode that gives the rider a greater sense of safety and the ability to improve their fuel economy.
-
Smooth & Controlled: Sea-Doo’ers have a sense of comfort and control as the RXT-X provides a smooth and easy-to-maneuver ride.
